The truth about auto repair shops and recommending extra repairs.
You know the feeling, you go into the repair shop for an oil change and the service advisor calls you on the phone or up to the counter and tells you your vehicle needs $500.00 worth of repairs.
I know you’ve been through that, cause I’ve been through it too.
However, if you think about it this way it may make a little more sense to you.
What if you were about to go out of town and you take your car in for an oil change. The repair shop changes your oil and sends you on your way.
Half way between Houston and Dallas (you know the spot, 75 miles of nothing in either direction) your car starts to overheat, your instrument panel looks like a Christmas tree from all the warning lights that are on and then your car finally dies.
Your cell phone has no signal because you’re in the middle of nowhere and no one is stopping to help.
Three hours later a tow truck happens to drive by and stops. The tow truck driver opens your hood and says,”Hey, looky there your belt broke”. You think, “ Man, I just had it at the shop for an oil change, why didn’t they tell me about it?” And the driver answers, “Well, they probably didn’t give your car the adequate amount of time it deserves to check it and make sure everything else is OK.”
You see if your shop doesn’t check your car over or looks to see if anything needs immediate attention they are doing you a big disservice. If they would have given your car a good once over you would’ve avoided a big expense, wouldn’t of lost time on your trip and not had all that unneeded stress.
I believe that every car we work on should get our, almost famous too many to count point to make sure everything else is ok with your car safety inspection, for free. In other words we will take the time necessary to do the job and give your car a good once over to make sure everything is ok.
I want you to know what condition your vehicle is in regardless if you repair it with us or not.
You have the right to know what your driving on and what you are entrusting your family too.
Thank you for your time.
